Hotbot
HotBot is Lycos's sister site, and once you visit her you can certainly see the relation! Although the homepage is basically simple, along the same lines as Google or AltaVista, after you enter a search phrase you may have some trouble distinguishing the sponsored links from the actual results. This is because the sponsored links take up around half the page! Some of them come from Overture, others from Lycos's AdBuyer program. The search results come from Inktomi (owned by Yahoo) as well as Dmoz and Overture, but if you want to get listed you are probably best off paying for the submission through Inktomi. Otherwise you could wait to get listed organically
Like Lycos, it is difficult to determine what standards HotBot is following with regards to its search results, and so it's probably best not to build your site around this one.
